FAQ

From Transcyclopedia

There are many commonly asked questions of transgendered people. This page should serve to answer those for you.

1. Does me being attracted to you make me gay?

Simple Answer: No it doesn't.
Complex Answer: It depends on how you identify. If you're a heterosexual male and are attracted to a transwoman. Then our culture would typically define that as a heterosexual attraction since the person is presenting and identifying as female. However, defining sexuality along with transgender can be a bit confusing. Mostly it's about you and how you identify. This is probably more confusing than helpful. Stick with the simple answer.

2. If you are interested in women, why not stay a man?

Answer: Transgender has nothing to do with sexuality. It's not about who you have sex with. It's about who you are inside. Gender is internal...a form of identity. This is being confused with sexuality, which is external. Sexuality is who you are attracted to. Many find that they have to accept themselves as gay or lesbian once they transition.
