     The bulk of what's done in the transsexual transitional process is actually done through hormone treatments. This is suprising to a lot of people, since what usually hits the media is sex reassignment surgery. Hormones do the bulk of the changes in the physical body. They are very powerful, and a little hormone can go a long way.

     Hormones have profound effects on the body, some permanent, and some reversable. Either way, they are not something that are taken lightly. There are many factors to consider before making the choice to start them or not. Many people don't even know the effects of hormones on the body, and those that do may have a glamourized image painted in their mind.
